Trigger Warning - My 10 Favorite Beers (#11 of 30)

As the title suggests, this list could perturb the everyday craft beer enthusiast. I like my share of common beers and I won’t be apologizing for it. So let’s get into it. In no particular order:

Yuengling - Traditional Lager

4.5% ABV. This one might be some recency bias. Yes, recency bias for America’s oldest brewery. I typically like my beer to taste like beer and the amber bodied, easy drinker with just enough flavor from Pottsville, PA tastes just how I want it to.

Guinness - Guinness Stout

4.2% Originally brewed by Arthur Guinness at the St. Jame’s Gate Brewery in Dublin, Ireland in * checks notes * 1759. It was good then, it is good now, it will be good when their lease expires (in 8,736 years).

Maui Brewing Co - Bikini Blonde Lager

4.8% ABV. Here is a beer with slightly less history but just as much flavor. Crisp, clean, and just the right amount of sweetness. This beer goes great at the beach!

Odell Brewing Co. - Good Behaviour

4.0% Hoppy, Crisp, Crushable. Their description says it best. You don’t think “crushable” when you think “IPA”. This beer has all the flavor without the bite. Far and away my favorite IPA.

Bristol Brewing Co. - Ivywild School Pale Ale

5.2% ABV. The ol’ I(s)PA. Very tropical and juicy without being overpowering.

Dogfish Head - 60 Minute IPA

6.0% ABV. “Balanced” is the perfect word here in my opinion. Brewers add hops at different times in the boil in order to achieve different flavors and aromas. Dogfish Head continuously adds hops throughout the entire boil. The story is pretty cool. Check it out and have a taste!

Bristol Brewing Co. - Laughing Lab

5.4% ABV. The beer that got me interested in making beer. The Scottish Ale out of Colorado Springs has the hardware to back it up.

Troegs Independent Brewing - Double Bock

8.2% ABV. Maltiness meets fruity here, all while keeping it mild. The ABV isn’t too shabby either.

Lancaster Brewing Co. - Bakes Pumpkin Ale

7.5% ABV - While these last two aren’t my year round favorites, I thought it would be nice to add in some seasonals. A good mix of sweet and spicy, you’ll see this one in the fridge come late September.

Breckenridge Brewery - Christmas Ale

7.1% ABV. A strong beer to get you through the Holidays, like most beers on this list, the Christmas Ale has a way of packing flavor without being overbearing.
