Our Story
Hi, I’m Andy Johnson! Welcome to Brookmeade Brewing Co. In 2017 I moved to
Colorado, where my brewing journey began. While working towards my MBA and
exploring my new home, I often found myself doing schoolwork in breweries. I noticed
breweries had a culture that went beyond serving beer. Though each one had a unique
personality, they share a commitment to giving back to the community in which they belong.
This concept, along with the rotating beer lists that kept me coming back,
sparked my interest in home brewing. My family bought me my first homebrew kit, two
buckets, and a pot. I started with some simple recipes and gradually upped my skill and
equipment. My wife, Nikki, has been my number one taste tester. Unlike in the early
days, she now views that as a perk rather than a sacrifice.
Our Name
I grew up on Brookmeade Drive, surrounded by family and friends. The name
Brookmeade Brewing Co. ties together the two places I’ve called “home”- West Chester,
where I am surrounded by a sense of belonging, and Colorado, where I learned to
create that feeling for myself through breweries, brewing, and brews!

Brookmeadebrewingco.com is divided into two sections - The Garage and The Neighborhood.
The Garage is where my brewing began, and my equipment lives. This page will
highlight new recipes, business updates, and all things Brookmeade.
The Neighborhood is where I’ll explore the diverse beer culture that inspires me to try
new methods, ingredients, and influences. Come to this section to find out what local tap is peaking my interest.
